About this book
This is a story about a married couple, Kali and Ponna, who love each other but are unhappy because they cannot have a child. In their village in Tamil Nadu, people believe that having children is very important. Because of this, the couple faces constant pressure, gossip, and blame from family and society. Even though they try many ways to have a baby, nothing works. Finally, they are pushed toward a controversial tradition linked to a temple festival, where social rules are relaxed. This creates tension, misunderstanding, and emotional pain between them.
